Picturesque Town on Iguazú Falls' Doorstep
Located 18 km from the Iguazú Falls UNESCO World Heritage Site, Puerto Iguazú is an Argentinean town situated near the Brazilian border, in the Province of Misiones. Its compact city centre is packed with restaurants, cafés and shops, while the area is well-known for its red soil and lush vegetation.
The stunning falls comprise 275 individual falls spread over 3 km between Argentina and Brazil. They have a maximum height of 80 metres and a water flow that can be three times superior to that of the Niagara Falls.
The Guaraní natives named the falls ‘iguazú’, meaning ‘big water’. The national park was founded in 1907, and some of the best hotels in Puerto Iguazú are located in the road linking the city centre to the falls. Some hotels on the Argentinean side of the waterfalls offer beautiful views.
The local bus station offers links to several long-distance destinations, including Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. The city is served by Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport, while the Brazilian Foz do Iguaçu International Airport is 16 km away.

Amazing bucket list experience! We went later in the day and rode the boat ride that took us practically right next to the falls! Truly awe-inspiring and something that all should experience. Prices are great. Be prepared for the steps down, and then back up!...to and from the boats - it's a bit of a climb. Didn't get to do much else at the park - if there is a next time, we will go earlier to get the full experience!

Very disappointed.
Very disappointed. Spent time and money to get to this part of Argentina to see these falls and we saw very little due to over tourism. It was so crowded you were elbow to elbow, face to face and some times wheel chairs running over your feet so they can get by. It was terrible. What a way to ruin 1 of the 7 wonders.

I loved the Falls, especially the Argentina side.
I loved the Falls, especially the Argentina side. This was also our chance to visit Paraguay. There were some nice restaurants nearby. The weather was terribly hot and humid. We didn’t stay long at either Park because it was too hot and crowded in the morning. The sidewalks in Puerto Iguasu are terrible.

The location on the right across the border from Brasil and the proximity to international Iguazu airport was good. The hotel is large and has a beautiful pool area and 3 different type of restaurants all very good! -Breakfast was good! The casino is small but we'll laid out and has all the games most large casinos have, just fewer tables. You can stay here on a getaway trip and not even leave the Hotel although the Iguacu Falls are a must to visit! the little town on the outskirts has a lot of variety of good food and wine options!
The place is amazing! The location is great (near the Brazilian Embassy and close to many fancy restaurants), the price is very affordable, and the room is clean and cozy. Everyone here is so friendly and helpful, especially Steve himself. He is always smile and trying to solve any problems of the guests. He speaks good English, it's quite helpful in a Spanish-speaking city! I'd like to recommend the place to all of my friends. Don't miss the bar in the hotel! Delicious and affordable too.
Room was large and comfortable with good aircon. Enjoyed the pool ( it was very hot when we were there!) and the pool table. Breakfast was good. Best of all was the owner, Pablo. He was very helpful on info in Puerto Iguazua and getting to both sides of the falls. His english was also excellent! He let us have a very late check out as no one was coming into our room that day. Thank you Pablo for all!
Average breakfast. Good if you want to start your day early for hiking or whatever other plan you may have in Iguazú.
We tried the spa after a long hiking day around the waterfalls. It was good. Didn´t have enough time to try a massage.
It´s a block away from the main street with restaurants and bars.
There is a TAXI joint at the right corner of the street where the hotel is.
Buffet breakfast with sufficient choice and substantial. Got a room with balcony with view of street. Very nice! Room was clean and neat with basic necessities. Air conditioning was very welcome. Location was conveniently opposite main bus station for busses to airport, Iguazu Falls or surrounding countries. Nice variety of restaurants near hotel.
it’s a really good place to stay during your trip to iguazu! it’s super easy to get to the iguazu falls (both sides, Argentina and Brazil) from the hostel and in the afternoon you can relax in the hostel and enjoy the swimming pool. it’s super clean, a perfect equipped kitchen and the owners are super friendly and helpful
Everything you need in a hotel/resort
Clean, spacious, swimming pool, the room smelt of a clean linen fragrance so beautiful, and the person who hosted us was very professional and helpful. Hope in my next trip to Argentina, will come to spend more time in the same place. Thank you
We really enjoyed our stay at Hospedaje Jose Gorgues! It's just a few minutes walking to the busstation and the centre of Iguazu. All the restaurants are nearby. Daniel is a great host and tells you everything you need to know for your stay in Puerto Iguazu.
Really good location close to the bus terminal for transport to the falls and across the border to Brazil.
Room was spacious and clean.
Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Puerto iguazu
Modern, comfortable hotel situated a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Puerto Iguazú. Staff are fantastic, very helpful and most of them speak excellent English. They even helped us to rent a car from a local agency.
We liked the location of the hotel. The breakfast was very good. The environment of the hotel is very nice. The bus terminal is closed to the hotel, so it was convenient to take the bus to Iguazu falls for people.
Hector the owner is a wonderful human being very helpful and kind. 20 minute car ride to the airport and the Iguazu falls also very close the the center of town great place to stay in Puerto Iguazú
Breakfast was good. Loved all the fresh fruit and sweets. Liked everything about the hotel and the staff at the front desk were so helpful with recommendations for things to do and where to eat.
Located next to the bus station, very convenient to go to the falls in both Brazil and Argentina sides. The host kindly arranged taxi for airport pickup/send off for us, which was very convenient.
The hotel is located directly over the road from the bus station making it easy to reach the iguazu falls. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Great hotel stay if you are visiting the falls.
Clean, large and comfortable rooms.
Couldn’t ask for anything more.
The restaurant downstairs was also lovely.
I like the whole environment, the idea to have the hotel close by one of greatest falls in the world with the facilities provided by the hotel it was great
