Awesome value for money, really comfy bed, cold aircon, great location. Just didn’t like hearing noisey neighbours on the second night, could hear loud sports and people having long loud sex. Other than that it was a great place

Lovely island. Beautiful sunsets. Full of wild life.
Lovely island. Beautiful sunsets. Full of wild life. Very artistic with lots of murals throughout the island. Great tacos. Kind, chill people. Wish they would forbid the diesel fueled golf carts altogether. Would recommend to friends and family and even come back.

I wish this place would continue to be our little secret.
I wish this place would continue to be our little secret. It is small, quiet and a little bit more private that the other places we visited over the past 30 years. It is out of the way, which makes it more appealing to us.

We've taken three trips to Holbox and plan to go again next year because each trip has been better than the last. The people are so nice and friendly and accommodating. The places we've stayed have all been perfect for our group. The laid back, barefoot vibe really works for us. We've taken the 3 Island tour three times and fully enjoyed it each time. Taxis are readily available, and you can find something to eat by just wandering around town into any restaurant that appeals to you. The beaches are beautiful and the weather has been perfect when we've visited - hot but not humid. The island feels very safe. We will definitely keep going back.

The island has beautiful beaches with white and soft sand.
The island has beautiful beaches with white and soft sand. Island is pretty small and easy to get around but taxi rides are not cheap - on avg 150 pesos even for a 5min ride. You can rent a golf car or bicycles or simply walk. You can easily get around town by walking even if you stay abit off the town area but not if you stay at Punta Coco. Lighting is minimal with some potholes, making walking a tad bit dangerous at night. Activities on the island are quite minimal and the same is offered from one vendor to another. We went for the bioluminescence tour which was ok but is unlike what is shown in the photos. We then went island hopping the next day which we felt was a waste of money bcos there's really nothing much to see and not only did you have to pay for the tour, we also had to pay for the conservation, entrance fee to the island that had a cenote which were added cost and we weren't informed until we got there. As for food, I wouldn't recommend Roots Pizza, the lobster pizza was over priced for a measly portion of lobster meat. Had the 4 cheese pizza and you can tell cheap cheese was used. I do recommend La Casa de Nana for the food - great chef! As for drinks, highly recommend AMA Japanese restaurant for their mixology cocktails - super yums!

There is lots to see and do.
There is lots to see and do. And the Mexican people, the locals, are warm and friendly and very polite and courteous. And folk who work in hotels and restaurants are very professional and courteous and again friendly.

Holbox Island is a little piece of paradise, we loved it and would highly recommend it. If you want some beach time while in Mexico and don't like the noise and chaos of playa and Cancun(we didn't like Playa) then Holbox is the place.
Beautiful beaches, lovely restaurants water activities, great holiday.
You can walk around the island or get taxis. Taxi cost about 150 peso depending on where you are staying..
There are shops to buy food and drinks if you are self catering.
Let's be honest it's a bit of a trek to get there so you have to hope it's worth it...and oh my goodness it so was! Amazing location, sublime beachfront, the best breakfasts (not to mention the pool-side Margaritas), perfect boutique facilities and the happiest staff! We couldn't have been more delighted and were so sad to leave (there were tears in our eyes when the bell rang, you will know what I mean when you have been). Ps we went to all the other top rated boutique hotels for drinks and still would have stayed here!
I loved the beachfront location of this hotel. I walked the beach from end to end on the island and this hotel truly has the best beach. Very little seaweed and well maintained. Also, their beach club is excellent! Comfortable beach beds, nice service, and they do not rent the beds to the public so the guest always have a place on the beach. The hotel has three good restaurants, and it's super close to town. You can walk to many cafes and restaurants in town within 5 mins! The hotel also has very pretty pool.
This hotel was a bohemian dream, the location was a 10 minute walk from the ferry and a 5 minute walk to the beach. Staff were super helpful and arranged our bike rental for us. The room was beautiful and the beds were far bigger than others I’ve experienced in Mexico. There is also an on-site water dispenser for free drinking water which was a huge bonus. The on-site restaurant was nice with Italian cuisine. This whole hotel was filled with Instagram worthy backdrops, can’t recommend highly enough.
it is the second floor of a charming wooden house only a few seconds walk from the beach. it is on a quiet stretch of the island, away from beach bars that play loud music and a walk from the town centre. it is close to a market with cheap place to eat and the airfield. it has a kitchen with a gas hob, coffee maker and fridge/freezer, pots/pans/cutlery/crockery.
holbox island has no tourist ‘attractions’ like museums, sights, ruins, walks, parks, shopping centres etc. so you are forced to relax!
Everything was wonderful! We really enjoyed the large, clean room with very a comfortable bed, the pools, breakfast and rooftop bar/restaurant. We also took advantage of the massage facilities which was a great experience. The hotel is located on the less touristy part of the island which we preferred, even if it's further away from the town. The beach is wilder and only a 5 min walk away from the hotel. The staff was very helpful and always available for any questions of recommendations.
The staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and flexible. The breakfast was incredible. The hotel was gorgeous and felt like an island paradise. Everything is so well cared for and it showed: the rooms were immaculate, beautifully decorated and the bathroom was spacious and modern + great water pressure! I loved all of the small touches in the room and around the hotel that made it feel completely unique and personal. We had a magical stay here and hope to return again soon!
it is a very well kept, small, boutique hotel. No luxury frills but the rooms are very lovely, modern, and clean. Staff is attentive and pleasant. Price for accommodations are good. It was perfect for what we were looking for. Also, the beach location is gorgeous and relaxing - one of the prettiest from the row of hotels in the area and you can't beat $3USD beers while sitting out on the beach reading or relaxing. Would recommend this boutique hotel with the caveats below.
Holbox Island was a stunnig place and Bliss apartments was a perfect spot to reach all the activities available on the island. The owner gave us a big help planning snorkling and more activies with local agencies which was super nice. The structure was really clean and cozy. Kitchen well furnished. The beach is 5 min walking. The house was even better than it looked on pics. Really reccomended!
Whatever small complaints we had about this hotel are completely overwhelmed by how beautiful the beachfront setting is. I don’t think Holbox has a true 5 star luxury option yet (which is part of the appeal of the Island!) and Palapas del Sol is probably as close as you can get.
The staff is lovely
I was there, and it was a storm.
The staff helped to change the room due to flooding in all the areas.
There wasn't taxi service on all the island and the staff helped me with my luggage from the hotel to the ferry
the property is in the centre of town so you’re never more than five minutes from anything. very nicely designed… I felt like I was in Pinterest! lovely cute boutique hotel with a mini jet pool on the roof
Fabulous boutique hotel. Best part of the beach yet only a 15 minute walk along the beach into the centre of Holbox. Staff were all lovely and professional. The food was good too.
The only thing that resembled to the boutique hotel name was the garden, rest of it was very blank and lacked the coziness what is the signature for the boutique hotels.
Everything! All the rooms were so beautiful and well designed. The rooftop was incredible, wifi worked perfectly and the hotel has the best location on the island!
