The church at the top of many flights of steps was worth a visit although we were not able to see inside. We were amazed at the number and the size of the birds' nests on the roof! The Imperial canal of Aragon was worth seeing too.
El pillar is a must see. We caught the start of the EL Pillar festival which has aragonese music and regional specialities. El tubo tapas area great for food
I didn't spend much time in the town as I was attending the MotoGP races at Alcaniz about 30 minutes away. Valderrobres is clean and quiet and appeared to have some nice restaurants although I dined mainly at Observatorio Mas de Bunyol where I spent four nights and the Motorland Aragon racetrack where food was provided for me. The drive to and from Barcelona was scenic and the roads good.
We only stayed overnight, but the autumn colours were outstanding in late October. Yosa is a small village down a narrow 3.5km road which is very windy and twisting. With only twenty or so houses, the Hostal Rural Basajarau would be an ideal base to make use of the many designated trails for biking or walking in this area of Aragon, Spain. Other than the hotel there appeared to be no other places to eat locally.
Calaceite is a beautiful unspoiled Aragonese village. It doesn't have too many tourists, has plenty of places to eat and is set in a countryside of olives and almond plantations and mountains. There are many ancient early iberian archaeological sites nearby. Also the great wine growing regions of Terra Alta and Priorat are not far away.
If you want to experience the spectacular Aragonese Pyrenees then base yourself in Jaca. The area has some of the worlds most beautiful mountains, valleys, lakes and quintessential Aragonese Pyrenees villages. This part of the world is totally unique and stunning. Jaca itself is a beautiful town.
Small town , narrow streets full of bars restaurants and family owned shops. excellent base for walks in the Pyrenees with good bus service . Refreshing swim in Aragon just by st Miguel's stone bridge.
Ok for a few nights but you need a car to get out and see surrounding sites. We stayed for Motorland Aragon so we were out of city every day. Nice sites st night.
Quiet town in the midst of vast agricultural fields and low rocky hilltops. In spring and at sunset, you can appreciate the beauty of the landscape from the medieval Parador of Alcañiz. The town is your best base camp to enjoy motor sports events at the nearby Motorland Aragon. However, please note that the public transport network isn't well developed - low frequency and coverage - if you don't have your own transport, you would either need to walk or use taxi. A bus connection to Motorland Aragon is only provided for MotoGP. The circuit isn't within walking distance, but it's really worth a visit. This year was our second experience of Superbike at Motorland Aragon and we truly appreciated the perfect organisation and rich programme of activities for fans. Alcañiz can get crowded on the eve of large competitions - make a reservation at a preferred place to eat, esp. if you're travelling in a group.
Huesca is not as pretty as as many of the other towns we visited in Northern Spain ... but the surrounding Aragon region is very beautiful and unspoiled. Skirting the southern Pyrenees and the expanse of the Ebro plain, it is a place of stunning castles and magnificent panoramas.
Jaca
Centrally located apartment with a superb common area. We needed a room with a kitchen or kitchinette to be independent with food for our Aragonian trips and near to the old town, exactly what Casa Campanilla offers. Apartment was selfserviced and access was through a key door code, no stress about reception opening times. Raquel immediatelly responded all our questions and all went smoothly. Booked for 3 nights initially and then added 2 more nights, because Jaca has so much to offer!
Location is second to none. Above the town, below Peña Foratata peak. Amazing views. Great family atmosphere and village vibe. Easy walking distance to middle of town. Breakfast was great. My wife and I joke about a hotel review we once saw that said the croissants were not crunchy, so we laughed when we discovered at breakfast at HG Alto Aragón that the croissants were crunchy! No machine coffee, but great spread of hot and cold breakfast, pastries and fruit.
The location of Pedro I de Aragon is perfect: right next to the Miguel Servet park, and at a walking distance to the historic centre or to the shopping streets. The hotel has a luxurious feel but is very affordable. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Personnel was very helpful with getting a parking spot and with changing the room (we first got twin beds, changed them to a double bed.
Teruel
The property is a Spanish farmhouse that has been renovated and extended to have two self contained apartments. It is decorated in a sort of traditional and bohemian style. It is located in a remote small hamlet in the mountains of Aragon region. The setting is ideal to relax and unwind. The scenery in the area is stunningly beautiful. Sonia the host is friendly and cooks very tasty food.
The gentleman who check me in was very polite, efficient and extremely helpful. Room was very clean with towels and toiletries. Hostel is located in quiet area(my room was at the back) Close distance to town centre. Good starting point to explore this part of Aragon. Very good value for money I am happy with overall experience I will strongly recommend
Good quality guest rooms with a very spacious toilet. Great breakfast. The location of the hotel is very good for those transiting between Madrid and Barcelona to visit places in Aragon, Spain. Staff were helpful in guiding us on how to get to the old district of Zaragoza the easiest way.
Nice Hotel in the area of Aragon and near Monasterio de Piedra. Friendly Staff. Nice little pool area. The kids liked that very much. Dinner at the restaurant was very good.
Alcañiz
Everything was excellent. Very clean. Heating was perfect for a cold place in Aragon, in winter. Great apartment.
Nice hotel in Torla, a beautiful small village in the Pyrenees of Aragon. Room spacious and clean.
5th stay in the hotel as its perfect for Aragon race track
Very nice place at a great location
The location, the surrounding views and the building are sufficient reasons to make the long drive here. even if you ignore the park, just standing on the top porch and looking at the views is sufficient. the rooms are comfortable and clean and other than the bed setup (see below) are excellent. but it’s the views and location which seals the deal - even from your rooms window. it’s worth it.
The price was very good value for money. The thermal lake was definitely a perk. Breakfast was quite good. The mattresses were very good.
Very kind staff, the place was perfect, and the staying great
Very friendly staff, Buesa is a small quiet locality where you come to relax. There is a nature parc Ordesa nearby. The accommodation had all we needed during our stay.
the building and gardens were amazing
Beautiful hotel on the lake. Wonderful warm hosts. Excellent food. Beautiful rooms. I highly recommend staying here.
Excellent, so easy to check in (in your car at reception) to your garage under room, excellent service, menu available for evening meals and breakfast, and all brought to the room. Large room with large surface/table to eat on or use as work station. All staff friendly and spoke very good english, pay for food at reception at check out. Only 1/4 mile from motorway.
There was a good view of the mountains from the road. They give a complimentary bottle of wine at check in.. they did have a pool and a playground for kids. The grocery store didn't bother to turn on lights, so it was hard to see what they had. Do yourself a favor and spend a couple more euros to stay in one of the hotels nearby.
